Take a walk through the beautiful Flint Hills with Gary O’Doniel
Primarily Flinthills is a landscape study of the Kansas Flinthills of southern Wabaunsee County. O’Doniel uses the technique of plein-air which is to paint outdoors to capture the beauty of the Flint Hills. Show will be on display till May 28th & free to the public.
Artist Reception is May 6th from 4-6pm in the Trusler Gallery. EAC will be open till 9pm Friday as part of Emporia First Friday.

Emporia Arts Center to host ESU Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit
Emporia, KS – The Emporia Arts Center will host an Artists’ Opening Reception for the ESU Art Student Exhibit in the Trusler Gallery, 815 Commercial St., from 4:00pm-6:00pm on Friday, April 1, 2021. The exhibition will be on display from April 1 through April 28, 2021.
Every year, the ESU Department of Art holds a Juried Exhibition for all the students currently enrolled in art classes. Each student is allowed to enter up to 3 pieces. An outside juror thoroughly looks over all of the pieces and selects the works that are considered to be the most excellent. The selected pieces are then displayed in the Trusler Gallery as part of this annual exhibition. The pieces that were not selected by the juror are taken to Trox to be in the “Salon des Refuses”.
Come see both shows and judge for yourself; all the while showing support for these up-and-coming artists in Emporia!
All exhibitions in the Trusler Gallery of the Emporia Arts Center are free to the public.

Emporia, KS – The Emporia Arts Council brings Chris Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience, a show with high-energy excitement from start to finish! Performance will be held at ESU’s Albert Taylor Hall on Friday, April 8th at 7:00PM. Tickets are on sale for $25 per adult and $12.50 per youth. Stunt Dog Experience has a cast of performers and dogs that will delight audiences of all ages! This show has incredible dog tricks, big air stunts, comedy antics, dancing dogs, come witness some of the most incredible stunts and behaviors ever performed by dogs! All dogs starring in the show have been rescued from pounds and shelters across the country. The trainers use positive training methods and work with each dog’s individual ability, athleticism, and intelligence.

Tonight is the Artist Reception for the Emporia Camera Club Annual Print Exhibition! The reception goes from 4-6PM in the Trusler Gallery at the Emporia Arts Center. There will be drinks and snacks as well a chance to meet some of the artists! This exhibition is absolutely stunning, bold colors, beautiful landscapes and more!
