Celebrating 43 years, Emporia Arts Center’s 19/20 Performing Arts Season explores a diverse spectrum of world class performances.
Each show this season serves as a window. Every performance is an opportunity to peer into different cultures, art forms, history, and ideas. As always, the Performing Arts Series assures that YOU can experience an incredible range of high quality arts performance right in the heart of Emporia, Kansas!

Femme Fatale – September 21, 2019
Femme Fatale is a musical tale from the time when movies were black and white and the singers were sizzling! Talented songstress Laura Ellis brings film noir to life by combining a classic love story, memorable tunes, and a clever con in this old-school-cool stage show.
Sugar Skull! – October 22, 2019
Sugar Skull! is a joyous and heartfelt adventure that delivers the rich, tuneful traditions of Dia de los Muertos. Featuring a company of gifted musicians and dancers, this colorful stage production is the perfect fall entertainment for youth and family audiences alike.
Catapult – February 28, 2020
Catapult is an emotional, humorous, and engaging experience that is all about the human body and its ability to transform. Artists work behind a screen to create seemingly impossible dancing shadows. You won’t believe your eyes when you see an average human morph into a full-size elephant in seconds!
The Tap Pack – March 10, 2020
The Tap Pack is an elegant and entertaining nod to the Rat Pack era featuring high energy performances of mind-blowing tap dancing, and smooth vocals, a swinging live jazz band and witty on-stage banter. They joke, they compete, they croon and they cajole while performing cool classics with a fresh twist.
Sybarite5 – April 23, 2020
SYBARITE5 is changing the perception of chamber music performance. From the moment their bows hit the strings, this quintet of talented, diverse musicians takes the audience on an exciting ride that engages the senses and redefines the rules.
Missoula Children’s Theatre – Summer 2020
The Missoula Children’s Theatre Tour Project champions the development of lifeskills through participation in the performing arts. After a week of auditions, rehearsals, and theatrical fun, over 70 local youth will come together to perform a full-scale original musical production for the public.
