Shaping the Future Requirements
“Shaping the Future” is open to all children in Emporia and surrounding communities between the ages of 4 and 18. This show is for the young artists in Emporia and surrounding communities to celebrate their art and have it displayed in a professional gallery.
A panel of judges will choose 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each of the 4 age groups and cash prizes will be awarded during the opening reception. Age groups will be 4 – 7-year-olds, 8 – 10-year-olds, 11 – 13-year-olds, and 14 – 18-year-olds.
Artwork:
1. One submission per artist
2. 2D artwork must be framed and with either a saw-tooth hanger or wire on the back.
3. Artwork must be completed in the last year.
a. Created at home, school, camp, EAC, or anywhere else is welcomed.
4. Fill out entry form – online at emporiaksarts.org under the gallery tab or come down to the Arts Center to fill out a form.
5. No fee! This is free for every kid.
Artwork can be dropped off at the Emporia Arts Center from May 31st – June 28th during business hours.
“Shaping the Future: A Young Artists’ Exhibition” will be on display in the Trusler Gallery from July 11th – 26th, Artist Reception – July 11th from 5:00-6:00pm with awards at 5:15pm.
