After a 15 year absence Chalk Fest is coming back to Emporia on September 21st. EAC will be shutting down the 800 block of Commercial street. For one day and one day only to bring you this colorful and creative event!
What is Chalk Fest you may ask? Waaaaaay back in 2001 Emporia Arts Council got together and put together its first Chalk Fest – a day of creating images right on the street! Whether you choose to be a registered artist or just come down to look at the art being created it is sure to be a day of celebration! Art, Food Trucks, Live Music and Fun!!
What to expect?!
Kids Zone – Face painting & chalk by number mosaic
3 featured artists – Heather Sulzen, Nancy Pontius and Hailey Quick
Food Trucks – Grab ‘N’ Go Hot Dogs, Chi Em Eats, Shelby’s Snack Shack, and Whisk & Flip

Registration for Chalk Fest 2024 is now closed for both online and in-store sign-ups! However, walk-up registration will be available on Saturday, September 21st. Participants will receive a 3×3 ft space and access to communal chalk supplies.
Participants that registered online or in-store before September 17th will receive a 48-pastel set and a 10 x 6.5 ft space.
