Holiday Jazz

The Emporia Arts Council is spreading holiday joy with our next performance of our Performing Arts Series.

Holiday Jazz | November 30th | Emporia Granada Theatre | 7:00pm

A nine-piece ensemble of world-class jazz artists from throughout the U.S. perform a collection of well-known Holiday favorites with a jazz twist. The “Holiday Jazz” ensemble is co-led by renowned jazz drummer and native Emporian Jack Mouse and his wife, internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist Janice Borla. 

Esteemed artists of the ensemble include:
Saxophonist Scott Robinson, Trumpeter Mike Steinel, Trombonist Steve Wiest, Vibraphonist Brad Stirtz, Guitarist Fareed Haque, Pianist Pat Coil and Bassist Alex Austin.

The Jubilee Ringers hand bell choir will provide entrance music under the Granada marquee as the doors open at 6:00pm.

We are excited to announce that this performance is FREE, provided by our donor’s generosity! Tickets are available at the Emporia Arts Center located at 815 Commercial St. Tickets will be required to attend this performance, get yours today!

Stairway To Zeppelin performs a show with visual effects and the latest in sound technology at low decibels with an unparalleled attention to a mix of the original recordings and live performances of the iconic Led Zeppelin. The charisma and musicianship in STZ is world-class bringing the goose-bump-excitement to the audience musically and visually.

Annie Get Your Gun

Irving Berlin’s “Annie Get Your Gun” is told as Colonel Buffalo Bill Cody’s own personal version of the tempestuous and romantic story of Annie Oakley and Frank Butler. WEACT will present the show at Emporia High School August 10-12. The show features popular musical numbers, such as, “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better”, and “There’s No Business Like Showbusiness”.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Emporia Arts Council or at the door. $7 student and $10 adult tickets. Cash or check only the night of the show.

There will be a brief intermission between acts for attendees to purchase refreshments at our bake sale. All proceeds go to support future WEACT shows.

Shaping The Future Entries

Entries for Shaping The Future are due this week, June 30th!

We want your art! Ages 5 – 18 years old are welcome to be apart of an amazing gallery exhibition. This show is for kids in Emporia and surrounding communities. Art created at home, school, camp or at EAC is welcomed!
