Emporia, KS – The Emporia Arts Center will host an Artist’s Opening Reception for Diana Unrein, All That Flows Beneath in the Trusler Gallery, 815 Commercial St., from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024. The show will be up for viewing March 1st – 30th.
Capturing the spontaneous and fleeting effects of light and water, Diana’s paintings seek to share the beauty and mystery of the human figure glimpsed through the flickering filter of moving water.
Growing up immersed in swimming and the beach life of Diana’s home in Cyprus, water has always been a dramatic presence in her life and art. The surface patterns and fragmented pieces of the figure distorted by their underwater transformation, offer a unique and unexpected view of the body.
Diana’s art is an exploration of human experience. Utilizing clay to initiate conversations about environmental issues through the creation of life-size sculptural works. Exploring the Interaction between nature and human experience in the context of our climate crisis.
All exhibitions in the Trusler Gallery at Emporia Arts Center are free to the public.
Gallery Hours: Tuesday through Friday 10:00am – 6:00pm |Saturday 10:00am-3:00pm
