Don't miss the final week of Viewing Emporia in the Trusler Gallery! This unique exhibit is a collaboration between the Emporia Camera Club and the Lyon County History Center, offering a glimpse into Emporia's past. Step back in time and explore our town as it looked over 100 years ago, with historic images provided by LCHC.

You'll see landmarks like the Whitley Opera House, before it was destroyed in a winter fire, and the Garfield School House, which stood on the same spot where a school has always been, just north of 6th Street between Congress and Constitution. Alongside these historical photos are current images of the same locations, captured by members of the Emporia Camera Club. The powerful side-by-side comparisons highlight the passage of time.

Additionally, the gallery features a selection of artifacts chosen by LCHC, offering a deeper connection to the places depicted in the photos. This is a beautiful celebration of Emporia's past and present. You can even purchase the Camera Club’s displayed photos, which will one day become cherished memories of our town’s evolving landscape.
